Scott Shamblott, DDS, FAGD, FDOCS, is an authority in the field of fear-free dentistry and dental emergencies, and the founder of Shamblott Family Dentistry in Hopkins, Minnesota, where he provides caring, shame-free dental care to patients who struggle with dental anxiety and phobia. His mission is to make people smile by getting them out of pain, fast, and breaking down barriers to oral care. By helping patients overcome their fear of the dentist and gain the courage to walk in the door of a dental office, Dr. Shamblott empowers more people to get the excellent oral health they deserve.
Education & Certifications
Dr. Shamblott graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Arizona before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree with high distinction from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Following dental school, he completed a general practice residency at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville.
Dr. Shamblott achieved fellowships from the Academy of General Dentistry (F.A.G.D.) and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (F.D.O.C.S.). He studied IV sedation at the Medical College of Georgia and sleep apnea at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. He also received orthodontic training from Faculté for Orthodontic Research in Toronto, Canada, and Six Month Smiles. Additionally, Dr. Shamblott is certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and holds a Conscious Sedation Permit from the Minnesota State Board of Dentistry.

Dr. Shamblott resides in the Twin Cities area with his wife, Kate, and their daughter, Rachel, who has been the face of Shamblott Family Dentistry since age 9, helping her dad spread the word about better dental health to children and adults alike. A passionate philanthropist, Dr. Shamblott participates in several community charitable events through Shamblott Family Dentistry, including launching Operation Open Wide to provide much-needed dental care for local U.S. military veterans and bringing Dentistry from the Heart (DFTH) to Minnesota.
